Book Review -- The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart

Frankie returns to her elite boarding school her sophomore year to find herself out of the Geek Club and "in" with the seniors. She sits with them at lunch, goes to their parties, and they think she is adorable. Frankie loves being adored and hates being thought of as "adorable". She wants to be respected and thought of as their equal. When she is excluded from their all-male secret society, Frankie decides to take matters into her own hands. Chaos ensues as Frankie masterminds pranks around campus, proving she is more intelligent and cunning than them all. So many pranks and so many consequences.

Frankie won't stop until the boys acknowledge her distinction. Will Frankie ever be "one of the guys"? Or even a girl that can keep up with the guys? Or will her ambition result in dire repercussions for all?

I really love how E. Lockhart portrayed the female character in this book. She was funny, smart and good looking. The best part is that she proved that she could totally be one of the boys if she wanted too.
